About the position

Chewy's Data Analytics team is seeking a Senior Data Engineer (Data Engineer III) to enhance the Speech Analytics platform. This role focuses on building and maintaining data pipelines, supporting VOC data democratization, and integrating metadata for improved reporting. The position involves acting as a technical lead for customer experience survey mechanisms and developing advanced data products to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and maintain data architecture and pipelines using advanced design and programming patterns.
• Manage and enhance SSOT tables and data marts critical for daily business decisions.
• Act as a trusted advisor to analytics teams and business partners, providing expert consultation and communicating data-driven insights.
• Mentor and coach peers on data standards and best practices, promoting continuous learning.
• Lead the evaluation and deployment of cutting-edge tools and processes for data engineering.
• Collaborate with leaders, vendors, and data practitioners to develop technical architectures for strategic projects.
• Document technical details of work and adhere to agile methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, focusing on data integration and pipeline construction in cloud environments and enterprise data warehouses like Snowflake.
• Expertise in SQL and programming languages such as Python; familiarity with big data technologies like Apache Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to new technologies and changing business requirements.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Prior experience with Speech & Text Analytics/VOC/Customer Feedback Management software in e-commerce, retail, or startup environments.
• AWS Developer or Data Analytics certifications.
• Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar, and familiarity with Speech Analytics platforms like XM Discover, Qualtrics, or Clarabridge.
