About the position

Akkodis is seeking a Data Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Fully Remote. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in Data Engineering and extensive experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, and Azure, as well as proficiency in Python, SQL, and Microsoft Office applications. The role involves translating data requirements into business processes and reverse engineering business processes into data requirements. The candidate should be adept at manipulating and pulling data, preferably in GCP, but experience in AWS or Azure is also acceptable. The Data Engineer will be responsible for handling multiple activities in a team that supports diverse North American scientific data needs. This includes performing data architecture, data development and design, managing data quality, reference and master data, and integrating data while ensuring effective data governance. Daily tasks will involve data modeling and auditing, designing detailed data solutions, defining rules, creating hierarchies and affiliations, distributing reference and master data, and profiling, analyzing, and assessing data quality. Collaboration with Business and Data Quality teams in Paris will be essential to design data quality management procedures, clean and correct data quality defects, and establish effective data governance practices.

Responsibilities

  • Translate data requirements into business processes and reverse engineer business processes into data requirements.
  • Perform data architecture, data development, and design.

Requirements

  • Solid experience in Data Engineering.
  • Extensive experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • Proficiency in scripting and coding in Python and SQL.
  • Advanced database handling and experience with data manipulation tools (SQL and variants).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of scientific data.
  • Relevant scientific industry experience.
  • Leadership skills to promote ideas, coordinate work activities, and plan deliverables within a project team.
