About the position
Join Atlassian as a Summer 2025 Intern in our Data Engineering team, where you'll have the opportunity to influence product teams and contribute to the Data Science and Analytics Platform. This role is designed for entry-level candidates and offers a chance to gain hands-on experience in data engineering, helping to strategize measurement, collect data, and generate insights that improve product experience and engagement.
Responsibilities
- Define metrics
- Instrument logging
- Acquire/ingest data
- Architect & model data
- Transform data
- Ensure data quality, governance, and enablement
- Alerting, visualization, and reporting
- Develop at scale and improve efficiency
Requirements
- Experience programming with Python or other related object-oriented programming languages
- Interest in software engineering demonstrated by previous internships, work experience, projects, or publications
- Knowledge of data structures and their application to meet data challenges
- Proficiency in SQL and relational databases
- Demonstrated interest in the Data Engineering field through academic coursework, previous work or internship experience, or personal projects
- Currently enrolled full-time in a 4-year bachelor's degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship, graduating by June 2026
