About the position

Mark43 is seeking bright and ambitious engineering students for our annual paid summer internship program. We are primarily looking for students graduating in the Spring/Summer of 2025. Our internship program will be running from June 3rd, 2025 - August 26th, 2025. While interning at Mark43, you will be fully integrated into the team and will have the chance to gain a foundation in data engineering through exposure to a variety of technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. You will have the ability to actively contribute to the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable data systems that power our public safety software solutions. We are building complex mission-critical software, due to this, the ideal intern candidate will be someone who has completed their junior year before starting the internship. Prior internship experience building enterprise software is a huge plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Product Owners to understand requirements for new data features
  • Utilize technologies such as SQL and Python
  • Own technical solutions for data products or subsets
  • Improve the architectural strategy of our data platform to meet the growing needs of our customer base
  • Test out new technologies and contribute to discussions on improving our engineering practices

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an engineering program
  • Completed junior year before starting the internship
  • Familiarity with SQL and Python

Nice-to-haves

  • Exposure to technologies such as DMS, Redshift, Glue, S3, Lambdas, PySpark, Google Looker, Terraform
  • Prior internship experience building enterprise software
