About the position
As a Data Engineer Intern at DigiKey, you will engage in various aspects of the Information Technology department, working closely with team members on projects and a capstone project throughout your internship. This hybrid role requires onsite attendance and offers local campus housing for interns based in Thief River Falls.
Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day tasks and projects in the assigned department
- Support the team in their regular duties
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions
- Collaborate with team members on various projects and initiatives
- Conduct research and analysis as assigned
- Maintain organized records of work and project files
- Write clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases (manual & test automation)
- Demonstrate understanding of Python, Spark, Java, SQL, DataOps.live/DBT
- Translate business rules into ETL code while adhering to best ETL development and design practices
Requirements
- Current student or recent graduate in an IT-related field
- Strong interest in hands-on learning experiences
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Average to above-average computer ability
- Willingness to take initiative and work independently and collaboratively
- Positive, collaborative approach
