About the position

The Data Engineer IV position at Adventist HealthCare is a senior role focused on leading the development and maintenance of data engineering processes, including ETL operations, data warehousing, and data visualization. The role is integral to supporting the organization's mission of providing comprehensive healthcare solutions through effective data management and analytics. The Data Engineer IV will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure data integrity, optimize performance, and deliver actionable insights that drive business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and support of the ETL process for data onboarding into the data warehouse.
  • Design and develop physical and virtual data warehouse table schemas and data marts.
  • Develop and maintain data visualizations and reports for analysis and business solutions.
  • Manage service operational tasks including database setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Create and support routine and ad hoc data load processes through database refreshes.
  • Optimize data integration platforms for performance under increasing data volumes.
  • Maintain comprehensive understanding of data warehousing and ETL application lifecycle.
  • Provide expertise in best practices for big data stacking and data modeling procedures.
  • Lead analytics support to generate insights in the form of dashboards and reports.
  • Prepare presentations and demonstrate business intelligence solutions to end users.
  • Train end users on new reports and dashboards.
  • Assist in preparing documents related to data governance and reporting standards.
  • Support data integration and warehousing application portfolio in resolving technology incidents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience with coding languages including Java, XML, and SQL.
  • 7+ years of experience in warehousing architecture techniques such as MOLAP, ROLAP, ODS, DM, and EDW.
  • 7+ years of experience as an ETL developer using integration tools like Talend and SSIS.
  • Experience with cloud-based environments such as AWS or Azure.
  • 7+ years of experience in building data analytics, reports, and visualizations in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience with Snowflake and metadata management tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of database security, integrity, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Cloud-Data Warehouse certification or ETL Certification or Data Visualization certification.
  • Experience with business intelligence software applications such as Tableau, PowerBI, and IBM Cognos.
