About the position

Castalia Systems is seeking a Junior Data Engineer to support the onsite client in Honolulu, HI. The role involves working collaboratively within a team to manage and process data, contributing to data engineering projects that support data science and AI/ML workloads.

Responsibilities

• Develop, run, package, and test Python scripts.
• Support the entire ETL/ELT pipeline, including data ingestion, normalization, preparation, and database design.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to communicate findings to analysts.
• Process and fuse structured and unstructured data.
• Create solutions within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment during team sprint cycles.

Requirements

• 1+ years of Python experience.
• Experience with distributed version control systems (VCS).
• Experience with the entire ETL/ELT pipeline.
• Experience conducting exploratory data analysis.
• Experience processing structured and unstructured data.
• Experience with data engineering projects supporting data science and AI/ML workloads.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Palantir products for data manipulation and visualization.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud computing services.
• Experience with Kafka and NiFi development.
• Experience with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
