About the position

The Data Engineer Lead- MDM & Data Governance at Cencora is a pivotal role that encompasses the overall technology and solution leadership for Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Governance (DG) platforms and tools. This position is crucial for the effective rollout of MDM and DG solutions across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will be an expert in designing and delivering large-scale MDM and DG solutions, serving as a comprehensive resource for all technology-related queries in this domain. In this role, the Data Engineer Lead will provide technical leadership across multiple domains and technical areas, including matching, merging, survivorship, data cleansing, workflows, and user interface design. The individual will lead internal technical resources and drive the product technology roadmap in alignment with the enterprise's strategic objectives. This includes being accountable for technical MDM and DG solutions and making informed technical recommendations. The position requires the ability to develop and deliver solutions either independently or as part of a collaborative development team. The Data Engineer Lead will also assist in evaluating and recommending purchased software packages and services, work with teams to build and deliver proofs of concept or pilots, and provide technology consultations to IT leaders and team members. Additionally, the role involves developing architectural designs for MDM domain development, integrating base objects with other systems, and providing expertise in various aspects of MDM implementations, including data profiling, metadata acquisition, data migration, validation, reject processing, and pre-landing processing. The candidate will act as a Solutions Architect around MDM concepts and will be expected to present complex technology subjects to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technology and solution leadership for MDM and DG platforms and tools.
  • Provide technical leadership across multiple domains and technical areas.
  • Drive the product technology roadmap in alignment with the enterprise's roadmap.
  • Accountable for technical MDM & Data Governance solutions and recommendations.
  • Develop and deliver solutions individually or as part of a team.
  • Assist with evaluation and recommendations regarding purchased software packages and services.
  • Work with teams to build and deliver proofs of concept or pilots.
  • Provide technology consultations to IT leaders and team members.
  • Develop architectural designs for MDM domain development and integration with other systems.
  • Provide expertise in MDM implementations including data profiling, metadata acquisition, and data migration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of professional IT data engineering experience.
  • At least five (5) years of experience with MDM tools and processes, preferably Informatica MDM or equivalent products.
  • Experience with multiple MDM architecture styles (Registry, Consolidation, Co-Existence, Transactional).
  • Experience with cloud offerings in the MDM and DG space.
  • 4-5 years of experience with ETL/MDM tools and processes within Informatica MDM 10.x versions.
  • Multi-year experience in MDM concepts and their application.
  • At least five (5) years of experience with DG tools, preferably Informatica DG tools or equivalent products.
  • Experience dealing with high scale, high performance technology solutions.
  • Strong presentation skills for complex technology subjects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with implementing MDM consumption patterns like Analytical, Operational, Real-time, and bulk consumption patterns.
  • Understanding of SaaS-based product implementation experience.
