About the position

Kforce is seeking a Level 2 Data Engineer to join a client in Cincinnati, OH on a 6-month contract to hire basis. This role focuses on driving digital innovation through the renovation and transformation of core data assets, utilizing various data platforms including SQL, NoSQL, and Cloud-based solutions. The Data Engineer will collaborate with multiple teams to design and implement data strategies, ensuring high data quality and user experience while mentoring team members in data principles and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Drive digital innovation by leveraging new technologies to transform existing core data assets.
  • Develop and communicate enterprise standards for data domains and solutions.
  • Design, develop, and implement integrations based on user feedback.
  • Collaborate with solution architects and product managers on data strategy.
  • Design Azure-based technical architectures and migration approaches.
  • Draft and review architectural diagrams and design documents.
  • Focus on data quality and user experience for the product.
  • Build standards, processes, and procedures for optimal results.
  • Create data pipelines for various streaming use cases.
  • Troubleshoot technical challenges with data product infrastructure.
  • Promote the reuse of data assets and manage the data catalog.
  • Mentor team members in data principles and practices.
  • Implement automation tools and frameworks (CI/CD pipelines).
  • Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate with the development team.

Requirements

  • Experience designing, building, and deploying scalable cloud-based solution architectures.
  • Expertise in creating lakehouses in Azure and building Realtime Streaming Analytics Platform.
  • Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
  • Expertise in Python and SQL.
  • Experience building data lakes and data warehouses for operational and business intelligence.
  • Experience with Serverless Computing and Azure Functions.
  • Familiarity with Cosmos DB, Azure Data Explorer, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Azure Databricks, Azure Machine Learning.
  • Experience with Kafka and other event streaming mechanisms.
  • Experience with monitoring/alerting techniques and APM tools.
  • Knowledge of automating infrastructure provisioning and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter with a business-minded approach to time and costs.
