About the position

As a Consulting Manager in Data Engineering within the Life Science Sector at EY, you will leverage cutting-edge technology to deliver innovative solutions to clients. This role involves significant client interaction, continuous research and development, and the opportunity to shape your career path based on your unique skills and ambitions. You will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to design and build scalable data solutions that address complex challenges in the Life Science domain.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to deploy the latest data engineering technologies and methodologies.
  • Design and build robust, scalable solutions for Life Science clients that integrate and enrich data from various sources.
  • Help clients make sense of complex data science, analytics, and software engineering challenges.
  • Provide guidance and perform technical development tasks to ensure data engineering solutions are properly engineered and maintained.
  • Engage with scientists and engineers to solve computational problems for clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 6-10 years of full-time working experience in Data Engineering, Big Data, and related fields.
  • 2-4 years of experience directly managing technical teams.
  • At least 2 years working in the Life Science domain, developing data solutions for challenges in drug discovery, clinical trials, or patient data management.
  • Strong skills in Python and other data manipulation languages.
  • Experience with data engineering models and frameworks, including data ingestion, transformation, and insight generation.
  • Extensive experience with DevOps tools like GIT, Azure DevOps, and Agile tools such as Jira.
  • A solid understanding of data engineering workflows, including data collection, transformation, and analysis.
  • Experience with data engineering methods and platforms such as Apache Airflow or similar.
  • Experience with CI/CD and test-driven development.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining data frameworks and pipelines.
  • Proficiency in deploying data workflows on major cloud computing platforms.
  • Understanding of data structures, data modeling, and software engineering best practices.
  • Proficiency using data manipulation tools and libraries such as SQL, Pandas, and Spark.
  • Experience with containerization and scaling data solutions.
  • Integrating data solutions with downstream systems for reporting, dashboards, and AI-driven applications.
  • Strong mathematical and quantitative skills.
  • Willingness to travel to meet client obligations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, or another quantitative field.
  • Experience working with diverse teams to deliver complex data solutions.
  • Skills in additional programming languages: R, JavaScript, Java, C++, C.
