About the position

The Data Engineer role at Actalent is focused on enhancing data accessibility and insight generation for team members. This position involves managing data from various streaming sources and organizing it into Delta Tables on the Databricks platform, with an emphasis on querying and analyzing datasets to meet team requests.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data dashboards for incoming data, summarizing data set parameters, and facilitating easier access to specific logs.
• Support ad-hoc data analysis for smaller-scale inquiries, such as uptime metrics for specific customers and investigating downtime incidents.
• Build and maintain data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from bulk log files, images, CAN data, and other sources into structured tables for labeling and analysis.
• Collaborate with the team to understand system performance and make raw data consumable for algorithm development.
• Create and maintain dashboards using tools like Tableau or Power BI to turn data into actionable insights.
• Engage in both new development and maintenance tasks, including refactoring existing data processes.

Requirements

• Proven experience with Databricks and Delta Tables.
• Strong in data engineering, particularly with streaming data sources.
• Proficiency in dashboarding tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience in computer vision and machine learning (CVML) is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team.
• Agile development experience is beneficial.
• Ability to proactively seek help and support when needed.
