About the position

NTT DATA is seeking an experienced Data Engineer specializing in Matillion and Snowflake to join their team in Portland, Oregon. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, optimizing data warehousing solutions, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure data governance and best practices are followed. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data engineering, particularly with Snowflake and Matillion, and will contribute to the continuous improvement of data engineering processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines in Snowflake for efficient data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
  • Leverage DBT to define and execute complex data transformations within Snowflake, creating modular SQL scripts for clean datasets.
  • Develop, manage, and optimize ETL/ELT workflows using Matillion, ensuring pipeline reliability and performance.
  • Design and implement optimized data warehousing solutions within Snowflake, applying performance tuning techniques.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Matillion workflows to ensure ETL/ELT processes execute correctly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with data architects and analysts to design data models and pipelines that align with business goals.
  • Implement data governance policies to ensure data pipelines are secure and compliant.
  • Apply version control practices in DBT and Matillion, documenting development efforts and aligning with team workflows.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement of the data engineering process, including implementing CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional services experience in data engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in Snowflake data engineering, including data modeling and performance tuning.
  • 3+ years of experience designing and developing data pipelines using Matillion.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and transformation.
