As a Database Analyst Advisor at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in transforming data into actionable insights for our clients. Your responsibilities will encompass the design, planning, implementation, and administration of databases, ensuring their security, access, and proper documentation. You will be tasked with establishing, implementing, and maintaining GFM Oracle RDBMS servers that support both development and quality assurance testing operations. This includes installing Oracle RDBMS software, performing necessary upgrades, and developing a patching schedule to address vulnerabilities promptly. In addition, you will evaluate and apply DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and establish a robust Oracle DBMS High Availability plan, which includes strategies like Flashback, Snapshots, and RMAN/Hot/Cold Backups. Addressing Oracle RDBMS downtime and performance issues will be a critical part of your role, as will creating and troubleshooting RHEL Linux shell scripts. You will also be responsible for supporting release deployments of DDL/DML scripts and assisting various GFM teams with on-demand data and business-oriented queries by familiarizing yourself with the data relationships and structures across multiple applications and schemas within the GFM ecosystem. Your work will support Agile development projects that are managed by time-sensitive schedules and sprints, focusing on database changes that range from structural to logical, with an emphasis on quality, performance, and adherence to standards. You will maintain database configuration control across multiple environments, including Development, QA/Test, Government Test, and Production. Additionally, you will migrate Oracle AWS GovCloud EC2-based databases to AWS RDS for Oracle databases and perform regular data-related tasks such as performance monitoring and generating reports. Flexibility in your schedule will be necessary to support after-hour production deployments and to respond to emergency issues in an on-call capacity.
