About the position

As a Data Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase, you will be a key member of an agile team responsible for designing and delivering data solutions that support the firm's business objectives. This role involves developing, testing, and maintaining data pipelines and architectures, ensuring they are secure, stable, and scalable. You will work with Nonstop database solutions and collaborate with various teams to meet their data access needs while contributing to a culture of diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, design, implement, and support highly available and scalable Nonstop database solutions.
  • Utilize SQL and understand NoSQL databases and their applications.
  • Research and recommend innovative and automated approaches for system administration tasks.
  • Collaborate with teams to understand data access needs and recommend data models.
  • Monitor key performance metrics to measure database utilization and health.
  • Provide Level 3 on-call support for the 24/7 Nonstop Infrastructure.
  • Ensure a secure, stable, and compliant environment for data management.
  • Support the review of controls to protect enterprise data.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in data engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with Nonstop program modules such as Nonstop TS/MP, Nonstop SQL/MP, and SQL/MX.
  • 5+ years of experience in administering, configuring, managing, troubleshooting, and recovering Nonstop databases.
  • Proficiency in configuring complex database management systems and maintaining databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement automated processes to improve reliability.
  • Experience with Nonstop Golden Gate replication configuration and maintenance.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence others.
  • Skill in troubleshooting complex technical problems.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle, including Agile methodology.

Nice-to-haves

  • Background in IT infrastructure, including systems or network administration.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as TACL, OSH, COBOL, TAL, C.
  • Deep understanding of Nonstop design principles and security factors affecting performance.
  • Experience with TLS, IPSEC, Nonstop Encryption, and certificate management.
