About the position

CSEngineering is seeking a Data Engineer/Data Analyst to join our team on a 5-year contract. This remote position involves developing community profiles focused on contamination, which includes identifying and characterizing various socioeconomic indicators. The candidate will analyze data related to demographics, environmental exposure burdens, subsistence patterns, and sensitive populations. The role requires a combination of environmental and demographic indicators to assess communities that may be disproportionately affected by environmental risks or quality issues. The successful candidate will utilize federal and state online data tools, such as CEJST and EPA's EJScreen, to support the development of these community profiles. In this role, the candidate will be expected to interact with senior-level government management, coordinating and communicating effectively while managing cross-functional teams. The position demands a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other project resources, both federal and contract, and to have a strong background in data related to Environmental Justice. Excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this position. Responsibilities

  • Develop community profiles focusing on contamination and socioeconomic indicators.
  • Identify and characterize demographics and environmental exposure burdens.
  • Analyze subsistence patterns within communities.
  • Assess sensitive populations such as low-income individuals, the elderly, and children.
  • Combine environmental and demographic indicators to identify disproportionate impacts.

Requirements

  • Security Clearance: Public Trust
  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical or Management field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or Data Analyst.
  • Experience with data analytics, including designing, maintaining, and optimizing data for collection and management.
  • Proficiency in Meta Data and GIS/GeoBase Spatial Data (Mapping).
  • Ability to use federal and state online data tools like CEJST and EPA's EJScreen.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with senior government management.
  • Demonstrated success in coordinating with federal and contract project resources.
  • Experience working with data related to Environmental Justice.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
