About the position

The Data Engineer position within the OpsTech Solutions (OTS) DataTech team focuses on designing and building foundational data infrastructure components that support Amazon's global operations. This role is critical in enabling OTS product teams to access business-critical metrics and develop systems for data ingestion, processing, and analytics. The position also involves automating data governance processes and ensuring data quality for AI and machine learning capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and build foundational data infrastructure components for OTS product teams.
• Develop systems and tools to ingest and process data from diverse sources.
• Enable seamless data publishing and subscribing for self-service analytics.
• Participate in the automation of data governance processes and data quality monitoring.
• Support data needs for AI/ML capabilities.
• Build and operate a highly scalable data mesh infrastructure and data lake.

Requirements

• 3+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions.
• Experience with non-relational databases/data stores such as object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, and column-family databases.
