About the position

The Data Engineer for Product Analytics at Meta is responsible for designing and developing innovative data solutions that transform data from various domains, including advertisements and custom software systems. This role involves leading data solution design efforts, facilitating data visibility, and providing insights that influence strategic decisions. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance data integration and support end users in utilizing data effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop creative and innovative solutions to transform data from diverse domains and components.
• Facilitate visibility and consumption of data via appropriate interfaces.
• Design, architect, and develop data solutions for product and business teams to make data-driven decisions.
• Lead data solution design efforts from beginning to end, including data integration for external insights.
• Perform data engineering efforts for the Data Warehouse and Operational Data Store.
• Provide insights that influence the strategy and construction of scalable data solutions and data warehouse environments.
• Leverage ETL frameworks and off-the-shelf tools as appropriate.
• Collaborate with data infrastructure and engineering teams to build and extend ETL and report generation frameworks.
• Consult with business partners to clarify objectives, determine project scope, and recommend solutions.
• Support end users on ad hoc data usage and serve as subject matter experts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Applied Sciences, or a related field.
• Completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis in big data ecosystems, custom ETL design, object-oriented programming, schema design, SQL writing, data analysis, data warehouse management, MapReduce or MPP systems, and Python.
