About the position

Freddie Mac's Investments & Capital Markets (I&CM) Business Technology Office is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to develop data platforms using microservices architecture. This role focuses on data management in the cloud, supporting internal customers by analyzing, designing, and developing data storage and analytic solutions. The engineer will contribute to building a modern data platform that enhances business processes and analytics, transforming legacy systems into efficient cloud-based solutions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, and develop data storage and data analytic solutions using data lake patterns.
• Develop and maintain efficient data pipelines and ETL processes for large-scale data integration.
• Collaborate with data analysts and other engineers to define data needs and build solutions that drive business insights.
• Develop, test, and deploy code for data extraction, transformation, and loading processes (ETL/ELT).
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Pytest to ensure high-quality software releases.
• Work closely with internal/external teams to help with the release process, ensuring smooth and error-free releases to production.
• Interact directly with customers to gather feedback, troubleshoot issues, and ensure that the product meets their expectations.

Requirements

• At least 2-5 years of professional experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Proficiency in Python programming language.
• Proficiency in SQL and database management (Snowflake cloud-based warehousing).
• Strong experience with data processing frameworks, Apache Spark.
• Experience with cloud platform AWS (EMR, EKS, Lambda).
• Solid understanding of SDLC practices including development, testing, and release management.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git, BitBucket.
• Experience with RESTful API design and development.
• Familiarity with PySpark for large-scale data processing and analysis.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency in Scala or Java.
• Experience with Talend and Control-M.
