About the position

As a Data Engineer at CVS Health, you will play a crucial role in the Pharmacy Benefits Management Enterprise Data Warehouse team. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop comprehensive data solutions that align with business requirements and advance the data warehouse towards its future state. This hybrid position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Design basic databases to store and organize large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
  • Compile data from different sources and systems, ensuring compatibility and consistency.
  • Work with APIs, connectors, and data integration tools to establish data connections and automate data retrieval processes.
  • Conduct data quality checks and validation processes to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Perform data transformation and modeling activities to support data analysis and reporting.
  • Build data models, schemas, and dimensional structures for efficient data retrieval and analysis.
  • Compile data engineering processes, workflows, and systems for reference and knowledge sharing.
  • Assist data engineers and other stakeholders in designing and developing efficient and scalable data pipelines.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into understandable terms.
  • Contribute to team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and collaborative projects by sharing ideas and providing feedback.
  • Assist team members with tasks, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring effective communication within the team.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years Data Engineering / Data Integration experience
  • 1-2 years Python experience
  • 1-2 years ETL (i.e., Informatica/DataStage) experience
  • 1-2 years Relational Database experience (Teradata, SQL Server, Oracle)
  • 1-2 years Cloud computing experience (preferably GCP, but open to AWS or Azure)
  • Strong work ethic with availability for evening and weekend hours as needed
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodology
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical levels within the organization
  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2-4 years' experience working in a cross-functional environment
  • 2-4 years Teradata BTEQ scripting experience
  • Healthcare Industry experience
