About the position

The Data Engineer Senior role at Lockheed Martin's Enterprise Business and Digital Transformation (EBDT) organization focuses on supporting data engineering development efforts within the Missiles & Fire Control business area. This position is responsible for delivering full-stack data solutions across the entire data processing pipeline, utilizing a mix of SAP ERP, S4/HANA, AWS, IBM CP4D, and non-ERP applications. The role requires a strong understanding of data lifecycle management, systems engineering principles, and the ability to design and implement scalable data processing systems.

Responsibilities

• Deliver full-stack data solutions across the entire data processing pipeline.
• Design and implement solutions that span the data lifecycle including collection, ingestion, processing, storage, and delivery of data.
• Build data pipelines that clean, transform, and aggregate unorganized data into databases or data sources for analysis.
• Architect, design, and develop highly scalable distributed data processing systems and Data Warehouses.
• Gather and translate business requirements into analytical applications.
• Maintain data systems performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems.
• Define standards, best practices, and certification processes for application development and deployment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field; Ph.D. or master's degree in Data Engineering or Business Analysis preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering development, particularly in Aerospace & Defense or large manufacturing industries within an SAP environment.
• Hands-on development experience with SAP BODS, HANA data modeling, SQL views, Calculation views, Stored Procedures, Python, IBM CP4D, and SAP Business Objects.
• Experience with integration technologies such as Smart Data Access, SLT, and Tibco Data Virtualization.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of MES Systems, specifically Apriso.
• Experience with Aerospace & Defense business applications, processes, and data sources.
