About the position

The Data Engineer/Scrum Master role at HII's Mission Technologies division focuses on refining a centralized data environment (CDE) that impacts the Department of Defense (DoD). This position is integral in contributing to auditable financial transaction data and building a common operating picture for leadership. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a team to ensure that strategic requirements are met and that the right data is delivered to decision-makers. The role includes a hybrid work schedule with opportunities for telework.

Responsibilities

• Designs, models, documents, and guides the logical and conceptual relationship of data and database changes for complex applications.
• Analyzes needs and requirements of existing and proposed systems, and develops technical, structural, and organizational specifications.
• Creates standards and/or does modeling to monitor and enhance capacity and performance.
• Reviews and validates user stories and requirements.

Requirements

• 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 3 years relevant experience with a Master's in a related field; 0 years experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with relational databases (SQL).
• Strong SQL skills for querying, managing, and optimizing relational databases.
• Must possess and maintain a Secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• PMP Certification
• Scrum Master Certification and/or experience running SCRUM
• Working knowledge of agile methodology, techniques, and frameworks (such as Scrum or Kanban) to deliver solutions.
• Ability to understand the transactional nature of the data being reviewed.
• Experience with FMS
• Security+ Certification.
