About the position

Amazon is seeking a Data Engineer II to join the North America Supply Chain's Science, Intelligence, & Analytics team. This role involves creating and maintaining automated processes, implementing AWS Cloud Infrastructure, and building a modern data architecture to support scientific modeling. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to deliver impactful results and will have the opportunity to influence Amazon's Supply Chain business significantly.

Responsibilities

• Implement & maintain an AWS Cloud Infrastructure to securely store, process, and deliver NASC planning data.
• Build and support a modern data architecture that integrates a wide range of available AWS data technologies.
• Work with business leaders, Business Intelligence Engineers, and Scientists to ideate business friendly software solutions.
• Develop functional databases, applications, and servers to support modeling using a variety of AWS and machine learning related services.
• Build and manage large scale data processing pipelines that efficiently and safely process petabyte-scale data.

Requirements

• 3+ years of data engineering experience
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
• Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets
• Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)
• Experience with supporting machine learning and modeling suites such as AWS Sagemaker, or general support of scientific modeling.
