About the position

The Data Engineer - TM1/Planning Analytics role at Amazon involves being part of a customer-centric team focused on revolutionizing the finance function through innovative technology. The position requires working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to solve complex customer problems in the financial planning and analytics space, utilizing advanced analytics and machine learning to enhance internal customer experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, application engineers, data engineers, product managers, and customer service teams.
  • Develop and maintain IBM Cognos TM1/Planning Analytics systems, including configuration, model building, and report/dashboard development.
  • Design and implement ETL pipelines and data warehousing solutions.
  • Utilize modern programming languages for data engineering tasks.
  • Provide strategic inputs for product development while diving deep into technical details.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of data engineering experience.
  • Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics or other technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant IBM Cognos TM1/Planning Analytics experience including system configuration, model building and developing reports or dashboards with TM1.
  • TM1 technical skills: Rules and TI coding, security setup, report development, ongoing maintenance of existing models.
  • Experience with data modelling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
  • Corporate finance experience exhibiting knowledge of financial planning, budgeting and forecasting functions and processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions.
  • Experience with non-relational databases/data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases).
  • Working experience with TM1Py, REST API.
  • Experience with design & delivery of formal training curriculum and programs.
  • Project management, scoping, reporting, and scheduling experience a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer focused, professional demeanor.
  • Able to work on a diverse team.
