About the position

As a Data Engineer Sr Advisor at GDIT, you will leverage your extensive experience in data engineering to provide transformative solutions that help clients overcome big-data challenges. This role is crucial in delivering data at speed and scale to meet mission requirements that directly impact national security. You will work within a mission-oriented team, deploying and developing data pipelines and platforms, while guiding a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and develop data pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful.
• Guide a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers.
• Manage the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for mission partners.
• Solve complex data engineering problems in a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience designing, developing, operationalizing, and maintaining complex data applications at enterprise scale.
• 10+ years of experience with Python and/or Java programming.
• 10+ years of experience building scalable ETL and ELT workflows for reporting and analytics.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of AI and ML methodologies.
• Experience with UNIX and Linux, including basic commands and Shell scripting.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services environment or other Cloud service provider.
