About the position

As a Data Engineer in the Video Content Research team at Amazon, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and supporting scalable data infrastructure solutions. This position involves working with complex data warehouse environments to integrate multi heterogeneous data sources, enabling efficient data aggregation and retrieval for reporting, analysis, and machine learning applications. You will collaborate with a diverse team of economists and machine-learning researchers to support business-critical projects and contribute to the growth of Prime Video, a key driver of Amazon's customer loyalty and value.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and Python.
  • Explore and learn the latest AWS technologies to provide new capabilities and increase efficiencies.
  • Design and implement complex ETL pipelines by processing petabytes of data to empower scientists in building large scale Machine Learning models.
  • Work closely with Product Managers, Applied Scientists, and Economists to explore new data sources and build pipelines that expand existing ML models.
  • Design and build data products such as data-quality, anomaly detection, and data governance.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of data engineering experience.
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Experience building and operating highly available, distributed systems for data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets.
  • Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions.
  • Experience with non-relational databases/data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with machine learning technologies.
  • Familiarity with data governance practices.
