About the position

Synechron is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer/Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in PostgreSQL database management. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining database solutions that support various applications and services. The candidate will collaborate with software development teams to optimize performance, ensure data integrity, and enhance the overall database architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL databases in production and development environments.
  • Collaborate with software development teams to optimize database queries and improve application performance.
  • Develop and implement database backup, recovery, and redundancy strategies.
  • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues related to database and application integration.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to database architecture, configurations, and procedures.
  • Automate database maintenance tasks using scripts and tools.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide guidance on database best practices.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in database management and infrastructure engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Software Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or Database Administrator with a focus on PostgreSQL.
  • Strong understanding of database design principles and SQL optimization techniques.
  • Experience with database performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and database deployment in cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go is a plus.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
