About the position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team in Rosemont, Illinois. This contract position involves designing, developing, and maintaining our data warehouse infrastructure, with a focus on SQL Server Data Warehousing, data modeling, and Python data processing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in these areas and at least 10 years of experience in the field.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex data warehouse solutions, including data modeling (star schema, snowflake schema), data processing, and data integration.
• Develop and optimize high-performance data pipelines for large-scale data ingestion, transformation, and loading.
• Write efficient SQL queries and stored procedures for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
• Utilize Python for advanced data processing, automation, and custom data analysis tasks.
• Collaborate with data architects, data analysts, and business users to define data requirements and strategies.
• Provide technical guidance and expertise for data warehouse projects.
• Help maintain and improve existing data warehouse solutions.
• Participate in data governance activities and ensure data quality, security, and compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or a similar role.
• Strong proficiency in SQL Server Data Warehousing and data modeling techniques.
• Experience with data pipeline development and ETL processes for large-scale data sets.
• Proficiency in Python for advanced data processing and automation.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts, best practices, and emerging technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
