About the position

CGI is seeking a Data Engineer to enhance development practices and integrate new technologies. This role involves driving automation, collaborating on architecture decisions, and developing solutions in AWS, while also addressing code quality and performance issues.

Responsibilities

• Drive automation pyramid and integrate with CI/CD tools for continuous validation.
• Build well-architected applications for Cloud.
• Identify code defects and collaborate with developers to address quality issues.
• Find bottlenecks and thresholds in existing code using automation tools.
• Collaborate on architecture decisions and develop solutions in AWS, including Python, Databricks, Redshift, and more.
• Create proof of concepts and integrate cloud-based software in a continuous delivery environment.

Requirements

• At least 5+ years of Data Engineering experience with web development frameworks.
• Extensive experience in AWS Cloud Computing, AWS Services, and Security.
• Experience with Cypress or Angular CLI.
• 5+ years of experience in scripting languages (Python, SQL).
• Experience with Swagger, Postman, and Docker.
• Experience in Semantic Layer Design and implementation.
• Experience in Data Governance and Data Modelling.
• Proficient in Java and Java-based web frameworks.
• Experience with database management (relational and non-relational).
• Knowledge in Data Integration, Mapping, and Data Migration tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Frontend build tools.
• Knowledge of Data Virtualization and data federation.
