About the position

As a Data Engineer at SPECTRAFORCE, you will play a crucial role in the development of a data lake and data services that empower our customers with timely, flexible, and structured access to their data. Your primary responsibility will be to design and implement a robust platform utilizing both third-party and in-house reporting tools, while also modeling metadata to ensure data integrity and accessibility. You will collaborate closely with business customers to understand their requirements and implement effective solutions that support their analytical and reporting needs. This position requires a strong foundation in data engineering principles and the ability to work independently on end-to-end projects, ensuring that the solutions you develop meet the high standards expected by our clients. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in SQL and Python to analyze and interpret data, contributing to the overall success of our data initiatives. Your experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines will be essential as you work to enhance our data infrastructure. Additionally, familiarity with distributed systems as it pertains to data storage and computing will be beneficial in optimizing our data processes. You will also have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge AWS technologies, further expanding your skill set and contributing to the innovative solutions we provide to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of a data lake and data services.
  • Develop and support analytic technologies for customer data access.
  • Design and implement a platform using third-party and in-house reporting tools.
  • Model metadata to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with business customers to understand requirements and implement solutions for analytical and reporting needs.
  • Work independently on end-to-end data engineering projects.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of data engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of experience analyzing and interpreting data with SQL and Python.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and Python.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems related to data storage and computing.
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
  • Experience delivering end-to-end projects independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions.
  • Experience with non-relational databases/data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases).
