About the position

Accrete is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join its dynamic team. The role involves architecting, developing, and maintaining data infrastructure and pipelines to support AI-driven solutions. The Data Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, reliability, and scalability, contributing to the company's mission of enhancing human reasoning through powerful AI software.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines and ETL processes
  • Architect and manage data storage solutions, ensuring high performance, data integrity, and security
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  • Develop and maintain robust data models, schemas, and documentation for data warehouses and data lakes
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the performance of data pipelines and systems
  • Implement best practices for data quality, consistency, and governance across various data sources and systems
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies in data engineering and AI and incorporate them into the team's practices
  • Mentor and guide junior data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 1+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong background in building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Extensive experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or similar
  • Proficiency with Python
  • Expertise working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and their data services
  • Proficiency in data warehousing solutions (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks)
  • In-depth knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration techniques
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and tools
  • Knowledge of data governance and best practices for data privacy and security
  • Experience with mentoring other engineers
  • Proven track record of contributing to strategic data initiatives
  • Hands-on experience working with Snowflake or Databricks
