About the position

The Data Engineer at Summit Credit Union is responsible for setting and executing the data strategy to enhance the organization's data capabilities. This role involves designing data systems, ensuring data governance, and providing business intelligence to inform decision-making. The Data Engineer collaborates with various stakeholders, including engineers, developers, IT, and business leaders, to transform data solutions and drive business outcomes, leveraging data as a strategic asset to support Summit's goals.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data systems and architecture to support business needs.
• Ensure data governance practices comply with regulations and protect against unauthorized access.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and meet their data needs, providing tailored solutions.
• Generate data analytics to address business questions, identify trends, and predict future outcomes.
• Establish and measure KPIs and metrics for data consumption and integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analysis, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• 8 years of experience in data management roles or a combination of applicable work experience and education.
• Working knowledge of cloud architecture and data management practices.
• Strong technical skills in data analytics, database design, and data modeling.
• Knowledge of data governance, data integration, and management practices.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets for business decisions.
• Experience with business intelligence tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to innovate with new technologies.
• Ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
