About the position

The Data Engineer at HealthEdge Software Inc will play a crucial role in the Data Engineering team, focusing on building high-quality, robust, and scalable data platform environments and solutions. This position involves collaborating with engineering, analytics, and data science teams to implement optimal data solutions for the Wellframe platform, which aims to enhance healthcare relationships through innovative digital health management solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Translate technical stories into software solutions
  • Create data processing pipelines and solutions to acquire and transform data from various sources (structured, non-structured)
  • Ensure the reliability and efficiency of our data platform, object storage, and data warehouse environments
  • Create and refine backlog to translate business requirements into data solutions
  • Create and validate technical designs with other engineers
  • Communicate technical decisions effectively with relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain a high standard for code quality for yourself and others on the team, including automated testing
  • Take technical ownership in areas of a project where applicable, contributing to technical design, development, testing and on-time delivery with high quality
  • Debug and fix challenging production issues to ensure data and platform availability
  • Participate in on-call rotation to ensure exemplary uptime and reliability
  • Work with customer support to triage, diagnose, and resolve bugs
  • Identify and lead process and technology improvements
  • Identify process, tooling and feature improvements to improve product quality and engineering productivity
  • Contribute to the team's roadmap for implementing technical and process improvements

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related field
  • At least 3 years of experience with cloud-based environments like GCP, AWS, Azure
  • At least 3 years of experience writing object-oriented code with languages like Python
  • Experience with pipeline orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, Airbyte, Dagster, or AWS Glue
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses like BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift
  • Experience with relational/transactional databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or MySQL
  • Experience with event streaming systems like Kafka, Pub-Sub, or ActiveMQ is preferred
  • Understanding of large data processing systems like DataBricks, Spark is preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, comfortable explaining technical problems to a non-technical audience
  • Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving skills, with a strong capacity to translate business requirements into effective data solutions
  • Possesses a keen eye for identifying data patterns and a passion for continuous improvement, combined with a love for data and a flair for creativity!
  • Demonstrates a keen interest in understanding the products that the data supports, ensuring alignment between data insights and business objectives
