About the position

The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the data infrastructure, including data warehouse solutions, ETL processes, and data quality initiatives. This role involves collaboration with data analysts and governance teams to ensure efficient, scalable, and reliable data pipelines while adhering to data governance practices. The position also focuses on modernizing data warehouse operations to align with industry best practices and emerging technologies, particularly in a hybrid on-prem and Azure platform ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data warehouse solutions to support reporting and analytics.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into the data warehouse.
• Optimize and tune data pipelines for performance, scalability, and data quality.
• Implement data quality initiatives to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Modernize data warehouse operations by adopting industry best practices and emerging technologies.
• Perform data analysis to troubleshoot and resolve data issues.
• Monitor data quality to ensure production data is accurate and available for stakeholders.
• Understand and monitor regulatory and security requirements for data compliance.
• Lead management reviews and identify improvement opportunities related to process efficiency and cost savings.
• Oversee the management of the organization's data assets and ensure secure handling of data.

Requirements

• 2-3 years experience with data management, ETL concepts and processes, Data Warehouse and Data Marts concepts.
• 2-3 years experience problem solving pertaining to data and data movement.
• Knowledge of data requirements in the Finance sector.
• Experience supporting strategic initiatives and projects, implementing successful strategies.
• Ability to recognize structural issues within the organization and functional interdependencies.
• Experience working with senior management in strategy development and value creation.
• Proven experience in Data Management planning, organization and development.
• Knowledge and experience of DAMA DMBOK and the different disciplines of Data Management.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with programming languages such as C/C++, S (e.g. as implemented in R), Python, MATLAB, and/or Java.
• Ability to act as a liaison between business and IT/Ops.
