About the position

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer/Architect with expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery to join our team. This position will involve building and optimizing data pipelines, designing 360-degree customer solutions, and collaborating closely with business units to drive e-commerce and retail initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, including experience with legacy ETL processes, Talend, and SQL. In this role, you will design, develop, and code data solutions with a focus on BigQuery. You will work with legacy ETL processes and leverage Talend for data transformation. Your responsibilities will include building and optimizing data pipelines to support high-volume retail operations, performing data modeling, and creating staff schemas to enhance market and e-commerce data flows. You will collaborate with business units and stakeholders to gather requirements and provide project estimates. You will take ownership of the full life cycle of data engineering projects from inception to deployment. This position requires you to act as a standalone resource capable of working autonomously and delivering on critical project goals. You will ensure high-quality data solutions tailored for large retailers and big-box companies, making a significant impact on our e-commerce and retail initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and code data solutions with a focus on BigQuery.

Requirements

• Mid to Senior-level experience in data engineering roles.
• Expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and data processing at scale.
• Familiarity with Talend and legacy ETL processes.
• Demonstrated experience in e-commerce and retail, particularly in high-volume data environments.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to interface with business units.
• Experience working with large retailers and big-box companies.
