About the position

The Data Engineer position at Mastech Digital involves working with clients in the Financial Services domain, focusing on digital and mainstream technology solutions. This role requires extensive experience in data engineering, particularly with Oracle and AWS technologies, and is designed for professionals who can contribute to enterprise-wide projects in a collaborative environment. The position is a contract role with a hybrid work model, allowing for remote work with some in-office requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data pipelines using PL/SQL and ETL SnapLogic.
• Implement and manage AWS services, including IAM and S3 buckets.
• Utilize DevOps tools such as Jenkins and Kubernetes for deployment and automation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data solutions.
• Model and structure data for reporting and analytics, particularly in Snowflake.
• Develop APIs for large-scale enterprise applications.
• Engage in Agile methodologies, including Kanban and SCRUM, for project management.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Oracle development (PL/SQL) and/or Streams based development.
• 3+ years of experience with AWS Cloud environments (development, deployment, and support).
• 5+ years of experience with ETL technologies.
• 2+ years of experience in data modeling and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB/Aerospike).
• Strong understanding of Data Warehouse modeling and reporting platforms.
• 2+ years of Java development experience.
• 2+ years of experience with microservices architecture and development.
• Experience in a DevOps and CI/CD environment.

Nice-to-haves

• AWS certification is a strong plus.
• Experience with Python/PySpark.
• Ability to think outside the box and design end-to-end solutions.
• Passion for learning new technologies and business areas.
