About the position

Genesis10 is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to design, develop, implement, and maintain data and analytics pipelines to support actuarial reporting and analytics. This role involves building actuarial enrichment data processes, productionalizing data science algorithms, and conducting application proof-of-concepts (POCs) to enhance an actuarial data mart, which is crucial for driving client service engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable data pipelines for actuarial reporting and analytics.
  • Build enrichment processes for actuarial data to enhance data accuracy and insight generation.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to productionalize algorithms.
  • Perform POCs to evaluate and implement innovative solutions for the actuarial data mart.
  • Monitor and maintain data pipelines to ensure reliable and efficient data delivery.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including actuaries and data scientists, to address business needs.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience using SPARK with Python and SQL.
  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering, including ETL development and pipeline building.
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform, with hands-on expertise in Databricks, Snowflake, and/or Microsoft Fabric.
  • 1+ years of experience working with healthcare data.
  • Proficiency with data orchestration tools such as ADF, Airflow, or DBT.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub, or Maven.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare concepts, including claims, eligibility, benefits, pricing, underwriting, stop-loss reinsurance, and reserves.
  • Experience building business intelligence tools in Power BI or Tableau.
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to guide and mentor a team.
  • Proven ability to build and optimize engineering processes in collaboration with actuaries and/or data scientists.
