About the position

The Data Engineer will support the Technology Business Services team at Fisher Investments, focusing on building and maintaining the data warehouse for the Private Client Group business. This role involves designing and developing data extraction workloads, establishing data models, and providing operational support for data management and reporting solutions. The position emphasizes collaboration with various teams to enhance data visualization and reporting capabilities, contributing to the firm's global growth through strategic technology solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Build and support the data warehouse for the Private Client Group business.
  • Design and develop extract workloads in Azure Data Factory.
  • Establish data models and support tools for populating data into various repositories.
  • Provide operational support and incident/problem management for data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with business teams to oversee data visualization and report generation.
  • Coordinate with IT teams for security, monitoring, and tooling implementations.
  • Use Agile practices to refine requirements and deliver data asset solutions.
  • Develop and manage integration tools and databases.
  • Design and deploy data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
  • Author and maintain documentation for processes and technical designs.

Requirements

  • 10 years' experience developing data-related solutions and software.
  • Experience with ETL and ELT tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Kafka, Spark, or MuleSoft.
  • Proficiency in database technologies like Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or NoSQL databases.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, SQL, or Scala.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure standards and tools, including application performance monitoring and DevOps.
