About the position

The Data Engineer will work within the Enterprise Systems team at TEKsystems, collaborating with the Lead Data Engineer, Product Owners, and Solution/Enterprise Architect Teams to develop new solutions that integrate backend systems for websites and applications. The role requires expertise in modern programming languages, web technologies, backend infrastructure, databases, and AWS cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members, Product Managers, and subject matter experts to refine requirements and translate them into functional software.
• Support AWS and Azure migration efforts using Kafka as the solution.
• Maintain and support legacy applications on MySQL during migration preparations.
• Build API integrations with Angular/React Material for front-end development.
• Participate in all phases of the development life cycle, including unit and integration testing, and ensure strong documentation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with AWS Cloud services (Redshift, Lambda, Glue, Athena, Airflow).
• Experience with Azure cloud services (Databricks, Dynamics).
• 3+ years of experience supporting databases and database migrations (Postgres, Redshift, MySQL, Dynamics).
• Proficient in SQL and NoSQL databases, particularly Redshift.
• Knowledge of modern data engineering languages such as Python, Step Functions, Lambda, Pyspark, R, and Glue.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AWS Serverless architecture, Cloud Security, DevOps, and Containers.
• Familiarity with API integration and front-end development using Angular/React.
