About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team in St. Louis, MO, on a long-term contract basis. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering and have a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in data-focused application development, particularly in ETL and data engineering. This role requires a deep understanding of advanced Big Data technologies, including Hadoop, Spark, Hive, SQL, and NoSQL databases. The successful candidate will have strong programming skills, particularly in Scala and/or Python, and experience with public cloud technologies such as AWS and Data Bricks is essential. Familiarity with Airflow for workflow management is also a must. Additionally, knowledge of ETL tools, DevOps practices, and GitHub is preferable. Exposure to Elastic Search and Graph databases will be considered a significant advantage, as will any experience in machine learning. Candidates with knowledge of finance, custody services, data privacy, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and related compliance domains will find this position particularly suited to their expertise. Experience in migrating ETL pipelines and data from on-premises Hadoop to Databricks is a big plus, as is experience in data warehousing and modeling.
