About The Position
Plateau GRP is seeking a Data Engineer who will utilize technology to mine complex, voluminous, and diverse varieties of data from various sources and platforms. The primary goal is to collect, analyze, and compile data to meet customer needs effectively. The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing SQL databases and creating comprehensive process documentation. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as the role requires collaboration both independently and within teams. The engineer will code in languages such as Python, Java, Kafka, Hive, R, or Storm, overseeing real-time business metric aggregation, data warehousing, querying, schema and data management, and related duties. In addition, the Data Engineer will design, develop, and test state-of-the-art Cloud-based database platforms, ensuring the implementation and maintenance of complex databases. Analyzing procedures to control the access and allocation of data is crucial, as is maintaining security controls in supported databases. The role demands the application of advanced principles, theories, and concepts to job assignments, contributing to the development of new ideas and principles. The Data Engineer will solve complex problems under consultative direction and represent the SOF Data Science teams across the SOF Intelligence Enterprise, working on long-range programs and objectives. Furthermore, the engineer will provide advice to the SOF Intelligence Data Team customer and assist in overall functional strategic data planning, working directly with the SOF DTS to ensure that the data systems supporting the DTS are functioning optimally and can integrate any needed capabilities to support the team.
