About the position

As a Data Engineer at PA, you will play a crucial role in harnessing the power of data to drive advancements in healthcare. This position involves designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructure that is essential for improving patient outcomes. You will be part of a dynamic team working on a multi-year project to develop a clinical data registry platform, focusing on managing, optimizing, and expanding data infrastructure to enable critical insights in the medical field.

Responsibilities

• Design and construct Big Data Lakes and Data Warehouses capable of ingesting and serving billions of data rows.
• Build and manage fully automated data pipelines (ETL, ELT, ELTL).
• Design data interfaces to source systems and transform data for storage.
• Develop data sets for analytics purposes and ensure robust handling of common issues/errors in pipelines.
• Optimize and expand data infrastructure to support healthcare advancements.

Requirements

• Advanced SQL and Python skills.
• Expertise in designing and constructing Big Data Lakes and Data Warehouses.
• Experience in building dynamic, metadata-driven pipelines and analyses.
• Cloud experience in Azure, AWS, or GCP.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Spark / PySpark.
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps environments.
• Basic knowledge of Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
• Data modeling techniques such as Kimball, Data Vault, Star/Snowflake schema.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty, or GCP Professional Data Engineer.
