About the position

As a Data Engineer at Booz Allen Hamilton, you will play a crucial role in organizing and analyzing big data to provide pivotal insights for mission-critical projects. Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex and high-performance Microsoft SQL Server database architectures and schemas.
• Monitor and tune databases for high-performance and efficiency.
• Create and modify extract, transform, and load (ETL) scripts.
• Develop and maintain documentation, including standards and best practices.
• Identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in mission-critical data sets.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience developing and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server database architectures and schemas.
• 4+ years of experience monitoring and tuning databases for high-performance and efficiency.
• 4+ years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server development, including SQL, T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, and views.
• 2+ years of experience creating and modifying ETL scripts.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
• Bachelor's degree.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with distributed SQL databases, including CockroachDB.
• Experience with cloud service providers (CSPs), such as AWS and Azure, and their associated services and tools.
• Experience with Agile engineering practices.
• Experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
• Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills.
