About the position

The Data Engineer will support the Technology Business Services team at Fisher Investments, focusing on building and maintaining the data warehouse for the Private Client Group business. This role involves designing and developing data extraction workloads, establishing data models, and providing operational support for data pipelines and reporting solutions. The position emphasizes collaboration with business intelligence teams and other IT departments to ensure effective data management and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Build and support the data warehouse used globally by the Private Client Group business.
  • Design and develop extract workloads in Azure Data Factory.
  • Build dimensional and tabular models to support data and reporting solutions.
  • Define and establish data models and support tools for populating data into various data repositories.
  • Provide operational support and incident/problem management for data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with the business to oversee data visualization and report generation.
  • Coordinate with IT teams to implement security, monitoring, and tooling capabilities.
  • Use Agile practices to elicit and refine requirements for enterprise data asset solutions.
  • Develop, configure, and manage integration tools and databases.
  • Design, build, and deploy data extraction, transformation, and loading processes from various sources.
  • Author and maintain documentation for processes, procedures, and technical designs.

Requirements

  • 10 years' experience developing data-related solutions and software.
  • Experience with ETL and ELT tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Kafka, Spark, or MuleSoft.
  • Experience with database technologies like Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or NoSQL databases.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, SQL, or Scala.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure standards and tools, including application performance monitoring and DevOps software.
  • Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in MIS, computer science, or a related field.
