About the position

The Data Engineer at Summit Credit Union is responsible for setting and executing the data strategy, designing data systems, ensuring data governance, and providing business intelligence to inform decision-making. This role collaborates with engineers, developers, IT, and business leaders to enhance data capabilities and drive business outcomes, ensuring that data is leveraged as a strategic asset to support the organization's goals.

Responsibilities

• Set and execute the data strategy for Summit Credit Union.
• Design data systems and ensure data governance practices are in place.
• Provide business intelligence to inform decision-making processes.
• Collaborate with engineers, developers, IT, and business leaders to enhance data capabilities.
• Transform data capabilities and solutions to drive business outcomes.
• Advise peers, stakeholders, and leadership on best data tools and practices.
• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency for reliable business decisions.
• Understand and meet stakeholders' data needs with tailored solutions.
• Establish and measure KPIs and metrics for data consumption and integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analysis, Business Analytics, or related field.
• 8 years of experience in data management roles or a combination of applicable work experience and education.
• Working knowledge of cloud architecture and data management practices.
• Strong technical skills in data analytics, database design, and data modeling.
• Knowledge of data governance, data integration, and management practices.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets to inform business decisions.
• Experience with business intelligence tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to innovate with new technologies.
• Ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
