About the position

The Data Engineer will support the Technology Business Services team at Fisher Investments, focusing on building and maintaining the data warehouse for the Private Client Group business. This role involves designing and developing data extraction workloads, establishing data models, and providing operational support for data pipelines and reporting solutions. The position emphasizes collaboration with business teams to visualize data and generate reports, while also coordinating with IT teams for security and monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage integration tools, databases, and warehouse systems using data-related software.
  • Design, build, and deploy data extraction, transformation, and loading processes from various sources.
  • Develop structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data storage models to meet requirements.
  • Provide operational support and incident management for data pipelines and flows.
  • Author and maintain documentation for processes, procedures, and technical designs.
  • Use Agile practices to elicit and refine requirements through iterative planning and development.

Requirements

  • 10 years' experience developing data-related solutions and software.
  • Experience with ETL and ELT tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Kafka, Spark, or MuleSoft.
  • Proficiency in database technologies like Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or NoSQL databases.
  • Knowledge of multiple programming languages including C#, Java, Python, SQL, or Scala.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure standards and tools, including application performance monitoring and DevOps.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cloud-based data solutions.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards.
