About the position

The Data Engineer position at FIS involves working with cutting-edge technology to develop innovative fintech products that transform financial transactions. The role focuses on building and maintaining data models, architecture, and integration pipelines, primarily using Snowflake, while ensuring data quality and performance. This position is fully remote and requires collaboration with various teams to enhance data management and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, develop and maintain data models, data architecture, and data integration pipelines in Snowflake.
• Develop core versions of software applications based on client requirements and technical specifications.
• Interact with engineering groups and train clients on applications.
• Perform ELT/ETL development involving complex data transformation and calculations.
• Test programming work and changes in the production environment to ensure data quality.
• Provide production support by resolving technical or functional issues.
• Create documentation around database objects and development activities.
• Implement innovative changes to improve data flow and efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field.
• Experience with Snowflake, including Snowpark and SnowSQL.
• Extensive experience with complex SQL queries and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in Python programming language.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodology and experience in scrum teams.
• Experience delivering and supporting a Snowflake-based data warehouse application in production.

Nice-to-haves

• Exposure to DBT, Airflow, Astronomer, and Qlik.
• Knowledge of financial industry practices, regulations, and operations.
• Fluency in sequence diagrams and class models.
• Experience with back-office accounting systems and private equity or public stock markets.
