About the position

The Staff Data Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, building, and implementing key components of the enterprise data platform. This position is essential for aligning the company's strategic data and analytics needs, enhancing products, and delivering valuable insights across business units. The role requires a strong technical background in data engineering and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure effective data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement data engineering solutions for the full data lifecycle.
• Utilize Azure DevOps for tactical implementation of data strategy and roadmap.
• Develop ETL and data pipeline capabilities for organizational and partner use.
• Implement built-in quality and compliance-by-design in all data solutions.
• Incorporate unstructured data and big data methodologies.
• Lead implementation of recommendations from Data Governance and Enterprise Architecture.
• Actively participate in data architecture decisions.
• Collaborate with product owners and business stakeholders to understand requirements.
• Provide technical mentorship to team members and data professionals.
• Perform data exploration and profiling as needed.

Requirements

• 5+ years in data engineering, with expertise in ETL, data warehouses, database principles, and related tools (SSIS, Azure Data Factory).
• 3+ years designing, implementing, and supporting cloud data solutions (Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure DevOps CI/CD).
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or PowerShell.
• Expert-level experience with one RDBMS and query language (T-SQL, PL/SQL, Spark SQL).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in Agile, SAFe, or Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with data quality, data catalog, and data lineage tools (Informatica IDMC).
• Relevant Azure certifications (Azure Fundamentals, Azure Data Engineer, Azure Data Scientist, and/or Azure DevOps Engineer).
• Industry experience in banking, financial services, or other regulated industries.

Benefits

• Salary range of $120,000.00 - $125,000.00 USD Annually with bonus potential.
