Responsibilities

• Lead design sessions with Engineering teams, Data Scientists, Product Managers, and IT stakeholders
• Understand business capability needs and define business problems that require solutions
• Evaluate new technologies through POCs and provide technical recommendations
• Implement data solutions using tools like AWS, GCP cloud solutions, Kafka, SQL databases, Python, Scala, etc.
• Facilitate code reviews, retrospectives, testing activities, and other team processes
• Provide estimates for large-scale projects and collaborate with Product Owners on roadmap planning
• Coach and mentor junior Data Engineers and participate in cross-team efforts for roadmap alignment

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience or Master's degree with 4 years of experience
• Educational background in Engineering, Computer Science or related quantitative discipline
• Experience building data models using R or Python
• Strong knowledge of engineering data-intensive software principles
• Familiarity with cloud native data warehouse databases like BigQuery or Redshift
• Proficiency in DevOps methodologies and Infrastructure as Code concept
• Expertise in cloud native technologies such as Kafka, Spark, AWS SQS, GCP PubSub
• Excellent communication skills for presenting complex analysis to diverse audiences
