About the position

The Data Product Manager role at Goldman Sachs involves leading the development and management of data products within the Data Engineering team. This position is crucial for driving the adoption of the Legend data platform, enhancing user experiences, and ensuring that data strategies align with business needs. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to understand their processes and data requirements, ultimately contributing to the firm's data transformation efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with users, research, design, and engineering teams.
  • Drive adoption of the Legend data platform by unlocking new workflows and business use cases.
  • Formulate and execute plans to build and improve features on the data platform.
  • Streamline user journeys for over 30,000 monthly active users.
  • Guide products through all stages of the product lifecycle, including research, pitching, scoping, delivering, and promoting.
  • Model business processes and capture data requirements to drive insights and commercialization.
  • Shape standards and policies within the firmwide Product Management function.
  • Use technical knowledge to assist users and suggest feature changes based on data-driven insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3-5+ years of product/program management experience in a client-facing role.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with design and engineering teams to drive product development.
  • Comfortable with Agile processes and creating backlogs that support the product roadmap.
  • Proven ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's/Master's/MBA in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience managing an entire product's lifecycle from conception to launch.
  • Familiarity with JIRA, GitLab, GitHub.
  • Familiarity with Design Thinking, Working Backwards Process, and OKR concepts.

  • Competitive salary range of $69k - $153k per year.
