About the position

As the Manager of Data Engineering with a focus on Data Operations at Capital Group, you will be a vital member of the Enterprise Data Office leadership team, responsible for driving the creation of a best-in-class Data Operations function. This role involves enabling Capital Group's data strategy and supporting a data supply chain that meets the analytics needs across various business lines. You will face significant intellectual and technical challenges while having the opportunity to make a substantial business impact. Your leadership will help develop a unified operations and support capability across Capital's data estate, ensuring the protection, privacy, and quality of data assets.

Responsibilities

• Lead the data operations support team to operate a world-class data supply chain.
• Drive the creation of a best-in-class Data Operations function.
• Engage with business groups and data product, engineering, and platform teams.
• Apply data-driven processes to strengthen data management activities.
• Define service level objectives and create service level indicators to monitor operational health.
• Run production operations of data and software-intensive systems with defined service levels.
• Foster an environment of agile thinkers and lead a high-performing team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in leading Data Engineering, Data Operations, and Technology teams.
• Demonstrated experience in defining service level objectives and creating service level indicators.
• Experience running production operations (L1/L2) of data and software-intensive systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to senior leaders and executives.
• Background in value stream analysis and stakeholder collaboration to drive optimization.
• Experience with vendor management and defining SLAs and accountability metrics.
